ABOUT ROXIE

Roxanna Denise Stevens Ibarra is a neurodivergent and chronically ill Frontizera who comes from a large Mexican American immigrant family. Having earned a UArizona Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film and Television and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with an SEL endorsement, she incorporates film and music into stories that reflect her identity. Her senior thesis short Tesoro, about an older man revisiting the memories of his youth as he prepares to sell his prized car, was a love letter to her community. The film was selected to screen at more than a dozen film festivals nationwide.
