ABOUT MANJA

Chef Manja Blackwood’s passion for baking is deeply influenced by her German roots, and her culinary talent runs in the family. Her grandmother opened a café and ice cream shop in Germany, passing it down to Chef Blackwood’s mother, who still owns and operates the café today. Initially developing her skills while learning from family members, Chef Blackwood later attended culinary school and relocated to the United States. She honed her craft by working at several hotels and resorts in Arizona. Currently, Chef Blackwood leads the Pastry Operations at the University of Arizona, and she has been a key innovator in developing allergen-friendly desserts for the Student Union. Chef Blackwood takes great pride in the importance of her craft, saying, “Nothing would be complete without dessert, of course!”
