JEFF'S TALK: Don't Give Up On Delight

Challenging the expected building aesthetic is just the norm for architect Jeff Shelton. There is a lot going on in our world, our country and our cities. Much of it is unsettling and difficult to process, leaving many of us walking through our days with a sense of unease. Buildings, the background to our lives, should support our human need for fun, beauty and joy – with reason.

Jeff Shelton is an architect practicing in Santa Barbara, California and a 1983 graduate of the College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture at the University of Arizona.  Jeff’s unique perspective of architecture, art and craftsmanship meld to create visually vibrant buildings that embody energy and happiness concurrently. Raised in Santa Barbara, Jeff’s connection to the city is evident in his natural facility with regional architectural vocabulary – but executed with a twist, adding colors, textures, patterns and forms that artfully expand the normal expression of the region.
